2023 Scholarship Awards Ceremony

A Better Future

2023 Awards Ceremony

At Hillcrest-Marlow Heights Civic Association, one of the ways we preserve our quality of life, is to provide our youth with Scholarships to assist them and parents to ensure our young adults have equal opportunity to a better future.  Where there is no vision, people perish.   We change the community through education.

Dollars for Scholars

Each year the HMHCA continues to award thousands of dollars in scholarships to

neighborhood students in pursuit of higher learning and achievement.  For more information on the Scholarship Program, visit www.Hillcrest-Marlowheights.dollarsforscholars.org

Dollars for Scholars®

In 2010, we established a local chapter affiliation with Dollars for Scholars® under a parent organization, Scholarship America®.

We became a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, the Hillcrest-Marlow

Heights Civic Association Dollars for Scholars® (HMHCA-DS) scholarship program.

Scholarship America® and Dollars for Scholars® aid local programs in becoming organized by providing (1) a blueprint for creating a board of directors and chapter Officers; (2) web-portal creation; (3) support for managing a structured scholarship program; and (4) fundraising tips, grant preparation guidance, and award ceremony ideas.

Each June, the Chapter presents scholarship awards to graduating high school seniors, continuing college students and students attending vocational school. Students may apply for scholarships through the web portal to receive consideration for a scholarship award. Student must complete a "Student Profile" (application) to provide required information for HMHCA Dollars for Scholars to consider the student for an award. Student may begin the "Student Profile" by going to the Students and Parents page in this Web Site and clicking the "log-in" button at the bottom of the page. Applications are accepted for consideration from February through June 4, of each year.

The Hillcrest-Marlow Heights Civic Association predecessor scholarship program, and the Dollars for Scholars® program have awarded 633 scholarships totaling more than $1,046,805.00 since 1988.

Awards Process

Students has to complete an application and a student profile via our Dollars for

Scholars® website: www.hillcrestmarlowheights.dollarsforscholars.org.

Scholarship committee officers evaluate application submissions and select award recipients accordingly.
